[ESP] Hoy traemos un listado bastante variado, que cuenta cómo evoluciona la cultura RAP. Las historias simples de los MC’s de los setenta fueron reemplazadas por rapeos mucho más complejos que contienen líricas más explícitas y metafóricas, también cabe destacar que antes de 1980, el Hip Hop no era muy conocido fuera de USA, pero durante esta década, empezó a expandirse por todo el mundo y se convirtió en parte de la escena musical en muchos países.

Muchos expertos en el hip hop, afirman que en los ochentas es donde inicia lo que hoy conocemos como “Edad de oro del Hip Hop” y que tanto hemos nombrado, y es que los últimos años de esta década fueron el calentamiento para llegar a la etapa que vio nacer a los íconos más influyentes de la historia Hip Hop.

[ENG] Today we bring a fairly varied list, which tells how the RAP culture evolves. The simple stories of the MCs of the seventies were replaced by much more complex raps that contain more explicit and metaphorical lyrics, it should also be noted that before 1980, Hip Hop was not well known outside the USA, but during this decade, it began to expand all over the world and became part of the music scene in many countries.

Many experts in Hip Hop, affirm that in the eighties is where what we know today as the “Golden Age of Hip Hop” begins and that we have named here so much, and it is that the last years of this decade were the warming up to reach the stage that gave birth to the most influential icons in Hip Hop history.

[ESP] Hoy traemos un programa en donde armamos una pequeña selección con algunas joyas del rap francés.

Pensamos que el rap francés es la primera escena fuerte de hip hop fuera de USA, también es claro que se gesta la cultura por las mismas falencias sociales y políticas en los grupos más pequeños y pobres de las grandes ciudades. El hip hop siempre se ha influenciado de todo esto donde los jóvenes encuentran en los sonidos y las rimas una forma de desahogar todas las cargas sociales que se viven en estos barrios marginados.

El hip hop llega a Francia a principios de los 80’s, y coge fuerza gracias a la comunidad africana que existe en el país, es así como nacen también muchos artistas con esta influencia cultural y generan un estilo particular muy deseado en la industria. Hoy Francia está considerado el segundo productor mundial de hip hop.

[ESP] Hoy la cosa está buena, pues llegamos con un nuevo capítulo de mucho hip hop, esta vez, homenajeando a la comunidad latina dentro del género, ¡latinos arrrriba!

La cultura latina ha jugado desde los inicios del hip hop un papel muy importante, ya que en muchos de los barrios estadounidenses donde comienza a pegar fuerte el género, vivían muchas personas con raíces y de ascendencia latina.

A finales de los 80´s y principios de los 90´s, se produjo una gran ola de rap que vino de la costa oeste de los E.U. y con ella, también surgieron varios artistas latinos que introdujeron en sus canciones términos o estrofas en español, haciendo muy populares las pistas en “Spanglish”.

¡Esperamos estén preparados para esta dosis de muy buena música a cargo de raperos muy latinos!

[ENG] Today’s program is nuts, this because we build a new chapter with lots of hip hop, this time, paying homage to the Latino community within the genre, Latinos up!!!

Latino culture has played a very important role since the beginnings of hip hop, this because many people with roots and Latino descent lived in many of the American neighborhoods where the genre began to take hold.

In the late 80’s and early 90’s, there was a big wave of rap that came from the west coast of the United States. With it, several Latin artists also emerged and introduced Spanish terms or stanzas into their songs, making the tracks in “Spanglish” a very popular trend.

We hope you are ready for this dose of great music by very Latino rappers!

[ESP] El coro, estribillo o HOOK, como es popularmente conocido dentro del hip hop, R&B, Rock y el Soul, entre otros, es un conjunto de palabras o versos que se repiten o intercalan casi siempre al final de cada estrofa de una canción, pues bien, las canciones de rap o hip hop, no siempre cuentan con coros, por eso hoy quisimos seleccionar algunas pistas que cuentan con este recurso que para muchos es fundamental para que la canción suene más sabrosa.

Los coros dentro de este género, muchas veces eran protagonizados por mujeres pero también existen grandes artistas masculinos dentro del R&B que se han sumado a diferentes raperos, sacando canciones muy buenas que han marcado varios de los temas más importantes del rap.

Este capítulo se logró gracias a la ayuda de nuestro parcero Zeus, quien nos pasó cada uno de los datos y la info que les dimos sobre cada canción.

[ENG] The chorus or HOOK, as it is popularly known within hip hop, R&B, Rock and Soul, among others, is a set of words or verses that are repeated almost always at the end of each verse of a song. Rap or hip hop songs don’t always have choruses, so today we wanted to select some tracks that have this resource that for many is essential for the song to sound tastier.

The choirs within this genre were often led by women but there are also great male artists within R&B who have joined different rappers, releasing very good songs that have marked several of the most important themes in rap.

This chapter was achieved thanks to the help of our parcero Zeus, who gave us all the data and the info about each song.

[ESP] Para esta ocasión quisimos hablarles y mostrarles a través de este listado el protagonismo que el hip hop ha logrado tener dentro del cine, así como también, en varias series televisivas, gracias a las bandas sonoras o soundtracks. Elegimos varias canciones, para nosotros quizás las mejores, las que más se han destacado a la hora de ponerlas a sonar en el estudio.

Artistas de la talla de Dr, Dre, Snoop Dogg, Pete Rock, Cl Smooth, Mobb Depp y Method Man, entre otros, hacen parte del programa de hoy, demostrándonos que no sólo pegaron en su momento en la industria musical y que a medida que el género se fue popularizando y fue cogiendo fuerza, comenzamos a notar la participación del rap en casi cualquier producto cultural.

Por esta razón, quisimos durante esta hora, presentarles algunas de esas canciones legendarias que en su momento la rompieron con toda.

[ENG] For this program we wanted to talk and show you through this list the role that hip hop has managed to have, thanks to the soundtracks, within the cinema, as well as in various television series. We chose several songs, for us perhaps the best ones, the ones that have stood out the most in our studio.

Artists as important as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Pete Rock, Cl Smooth, Mobb Depp and Method Man, among others, are part of today’s program. Showing that hip hop was not only a hit in the music industry, and that as the genre became more popular and consistent, we began to notice the participation of rap in almost any cultural product.

For this reason, we want during this hour to presented some of those legendary songs that at the time were a big hit.

[ESP] En este nuevo capítulo de Digging, queremos darle el protagonismo que se merecen las mujeres dentro de este género, el cual, la mayoría de veces, se ha caracterizado por ser de hombres rudos y machotes. Por lo general, cuando oímos voces femeninas en el rap, es en los coros o en partes muy cortas de las canciones, pero lo cierto es, que las mujeres siempre han sido fundamentales para el movimiento.

Pues bien, hay canciones muy buenas, que quizás, pocos conocen o no sabían que existían, en esta lista resaltaremos el talento y la grandeza de algunas de las duras de esta vuelta, por eso, la hemos denominado, GIAL POWER.

En el mundo del Hip hop, a una gran parte de las mujeres se les ha intentado dar cierta carga o reconocimiento erótico, pero esto jamás ha opacado, ni mucho menos anulado, el gran talento de muchas de estas raperas destacadas dentro del género.

The Lady of Rage y Jean Grae, son ejemplos de mujeres con unas habilidades objetivas para escribir y rimar, sin necesidad de crearse una imagen excesivamente sexy, y que más bien, han creado una imagen ruda, caso parecido al de iconos de la vieja escuela como: Queen Latifah, Mc Lyte, Salt n´Pepa o Yo-Yo.

Cuando se trata de buena música, las mujeres no solo han demostrado tener el mismo nivel que muchos de los hombres, sino que frecuentemente los han superado con creces, y un ejemplo de esto es el programa de hoy ¡esperamos que lo disfruten!

[ENG] In this new chapter of Digging, we want to give it the prominence that women deserve within this genre, which, most of the times it has been characterized by rough macho men. In general, female voices in rap can be heard on the chorus or in very short parts of the songs, but the truth is, women have always been fundamental to the movement.

Well, there are very good songs that perhaps few people know, in this list we will highlight the talent and greatness of some of these powerful artists, that’s why we have name it GIAL POWER.

In the world of Hip hop, a large part of women have been represented as the erotic women, but this has never overshadowed, much less nullified the great talent of many of these outstanding rappers within the genre.

The Lady of Rage and Jean Grae are examples of women with objective writing and rhyming skills, without the need to create an excessively sexy image, and who, rather, have created a rough representation1, a case similar to that of old school icons as: Queen Latifah, Mc Lyte, Salt n´Pepa or Yo-Yo.

When it comes to good music, women have not only had the same level as many of the men, but they have exceeded they counterparts, and an example of this is today’s program, we hope you enjoy it!

[ESP] En este programa quisimos resaltar la música que nace a partir de las realidades y problemáticas que enfrentan muchas veces los jóvenes dentro de los guetos o barrios marginales de algunas ciudades del mundo.

Por esta razón, en este playlist, quisimos dar una pequeña muestra de este tema que es muy recurrente dentro del rap, pues éstos jóvenes, encuentran la mayoría de las veces en la música, una forma de expresar sus pensamientos a través de la critica, muchas veces constructiva, pero otras veces también, destructiva.

Por medio de sus canciones, han juzgado o se han desahogado, respecto a temas como la violencia, la opresión, las drogas y diferentes problemáticas políticas y sociales.

Los rapers tomaron una posición en donde ellos mismos se denominaban parte de toda esta red que existía en las calles alrededor de la mafia y las drogas, las narrativas, en su mayoría fantasiosas y ficticias, son versiones adaptadas de películas o series clásicas sobre el crimen organizado, de allí, una idealización de los diferentes personajes de alto rango, como los gánsters de los años 20’s y 30’s, así como también, de los narcotraficantes latinoamericanos.

Las canciones de este programa se caracterizan por las letras agresivas que describen una realidad sin censura ni tapujos, con frecuencia, encontramos un lenguaje obsceno y muchas referencias a la droga, licores caros, ropa de diseño, entre otros tantos lujos.

[ENG] In this program we wanted to highlight the music that is born from the realities and problems that young people often face within the ghettos of some cities of the world.

For this reason, in this playlist, we wanted to give a small sample of this topic that is very recurrent within rap, because these young people find most of the time in music a way of expressing their thoughts through criticism, often constructive, but other times also destructive.

Through their songs, they have judged topics such as violence, oppression, drugs and various political and social problems.

Rapers took a position where they themselves were called part of this entire network that existed in the streets around the mafia and drugs. Narratives mostly fanciful and fictional, that are adapted versions of classic movies or series about organized crime, hence an idealization of the different high-ranking characters, such as gangsters of the 20’s and 30’s, as well as Latin American drug traffickers.

The songs of this program are characterized by aggressive lyrics that describe a reality without censorship, often, we find an obscene language and many references to drug, expensive drinks, designer clothes, among many other luxuries.

[ESP] Hoy arrancamos Digging, un proyecto de difusión con un único fin cultural de comunicación. Este proyecto nace como debate, análisis, pero sobre todo de disfrute del Hip Hop, no solo cómo espacio sonoro sino como cultura.

Nos encontraremos cada martes con una tanda de buen Hip Hop. Hoy arrancando casi con las bandas que más han sonado en nuestro estudio tipográfico. Pasaremos por The Roots, De La Soul, The Beatnuts y muchos otros. Grupos que en su mayoría hacen parte de los Native Tongues y la época dorada del Hip Hop. Todos con un hilo conductor que es la brutal sampleada de los sonidos estilizados del Jazz.

We’ll go through The Roots, De La Soul, The Beatnuts and many more. Groups that are mostly part of the Native Tongues from the golden age era. All with a common thread that is the exquisite sample from the stylized sounds of Jazz.
